Gas Mileage:

I get reports from customers ranging from 75 mpg on a Puch with lots of stopping, up to 110 mpg on a 2004 Tomos LX with a biturbo exhaust and a larger jet. If you go slower with the trottle not at max you could get up to 150 mpg.

Tomos is located in the port town of Koper, Slovenia on the Adriatic Sea. The country of Slovenia used to be part of Yogoslavia before it split up. Slovenia's neighboring countries are Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. Venice Italy, which is at the top of the "boot" is 100 miles west of Koper. The climate is Meditteranean. Koper is famous for grapes & white horses. Tomos began making motorcycles and motorized equipment in the 1940's. They are the worlds only moped manufacturer that has been continuously exporting mopeds to the US since the 1970's. Many things such as the frame are the same on the 2003 model as the 1976 model. They made improvements gradually. The early 1976 to 1990 A3 motor was replaced by the 1992 & later A35 motor, also 2 speed automatic. The new motor made more torque and lasted longer. More improvements were made in 1995 (electronic ignition) and in 1997 (carburetor location). The rest of the bike has been improved for the last 25 years. All the bugs have been worked out. Its the best moped available.
